See Me, Know Me: Understanding Racial Disparities Through Shared Stories & Connection at First United Church of Oak Park, IL

  • First United Church of Oak Park 848 Lake Street Oak Park, Illinois, 60301 United States (map)

Join Rachelle Zola for this tribute to African Americans in Chicago and beyond who are descendants of chattel slavery.

In 2024, Zola completed an 825-mile walking pilgrimage from Chicago to Montgomery, Alabama. Along the route, she performed her one-woman show, LATE: A Love Story, which candidly reveals stories from her own life and from those of eleven dear friends whose lives have been shaped by the enduring legacy of racism in America. Driven by love and reverence for those who reshaped her perspective, Rachelle invites communities to join in conversation, reflection, and solidarity.

Registration: Everyone is welcome at no cost. Please RSVP by emailing adulteducation@firstunitedoakpark.com.
